Especially flexible:

High flexibility - smooth & simple configuration

With the new compact safety controller PROTECT SELECT, the user can select between four application programmes, covering the majority of the practical applications. The controllers can be smoothly adapted to the individual application by navigation either through the menu or the plain text display. In this way, the user can benefit from the advantages offered by the flexibility, without having to accept the programming effort. The safety controller moreover saves costs and place in the control cabinet, considering that one PROTECT SELECT module replaces up to eight safety-monitoring modules. more

Especially functional:

The allrounder of safe optoelectronics

Our "Optoelectronics" Centre of Competence at Mühldorf/ Inn has conducted intensive research to find out the requirements placed on non-contact safety devices. All requirements were consistently and constructively converted into practice - the result is more than impressive and premieres at SPS/IPC/DRIVES. That is all that we will reveal for now! Come and take pot luck.

Especially prefabricated:

"All inclusive" switchgear

With screw terminals or rather with connector, with ASi SaW interface or pre-wired cable connection? We supply your safety switchgear ready-to-install, fully in accordance with your or your customers‘ wishes, if needed with fixing material and in customer-specific wrapping as well. Manipulation of protective devices!

We informed you about the draft of a planned change to EN 1088:1996 in the 24/02/07 edition of the MRL (Machinery Directive - MD) News dated 14.02.2007. This information concerned the amendment AMD 1 on the subject "The use of design to minimise opportunities for circumvention" that has been passed some time ago and has also in the meantime been incorporated into the current version of the standard.

The background behind the new requirements is that interlocking devices for position monitoring in particular and possibly the latching on moving protective devices are affected by circumvention to a special degree.  more

China: Foundations for further growth laid!

In 2002, the Schmersal Group established its own production plant in China and ever since, Schmersal Industrial Switchgear Shanghai Co. Ltd. (SISS) is a real success story and writes history. After multiple plant extensions, it became necessary to plan a new build plant "on a greenfield site" at Shanghai. On a 16,000 m² large parcel, a 9,500 m² large production hall, 4000 m² warehouse and a five-storey administrative building with a floor space of 1,700 m² are being erected. In September 2011, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone took place; meanwhile, the shell construction is already visible.
