(07.05.2008) The EN 954-1 standard and its classification into control categories are common stuff to machinery and plant builders when they need to assess the risks and select the appropriate safety-related parts of control systems. In the future, a new approach however will have to be used to determine the safety of machine controls: the DIN EN ISO 13849-1 is coming into force. The basic approach however has not changed. more |
