Our switchgear are used, wherever high-rise buildings are erected or elevators are modernized. The spectrum ranges from apartment towers and multi-storey buildings in Sao Paulo, London, Shanghai or Munich over residential buildings all over the world up to freight elevators in industrial buildings.

PESSRAL, a supplement to the European standard EN 81-1/2, lays the foundations for the integration of programmable electronic safety bus systems in the elevator technology. The implementation of this directive will have significant impact on the future construction of elevator systems. The Schmersal Group has acquired comprehensive experience with programmable safety controllers in machinery and plant construction and is actively participating to the discussion regarding PESSRAL and the development of programmable electronic safety systems for the elevator construction.
